“Our Land.” That’s what “Nunavut” means in Inuktitut, the language of the Inuit, who are said to have lived in the Canadian Arctic Archipelago for more than 4,000 years. The Nunatta Sunakkutaangit Museum in Iqaluit, on Baffin Island, displays Inuit art. The remote villages on the tundra and in the mountains are accessible only by plane, boat or four-wheel-drive vehicles.
